Fellow Ladies and Gents,
Let's just put this out on the table right now:
My name is pronounced GEE-OH-VON-UH.
I find it incredibly annoying when people pronounce my name COMPLETELY wrong. Now, if you are right around then who cares, BUT that is not the case my friends.
One teacher I had in high school used to refer to me as Genovia. Either she was really into the Princess Diaries movies, or she just plain out can't sound out words. Which is really sad being an instructor.
Another professor of mine, just recently, has referred to me as Godiva….That's all I have to say.
My name is Giovana and I get the little misspelling like Geovana, Giovanna…but when you end up calling me a country or chocolate it just doesn't make sense to me. These people are here because they have degrees…..but apparently this degree didn't focus on their grammar what so ever.
It's not a name game people, ITS MY NAME…so how about we focus a little more on those little things that identify one another.
Gotta jet,
luckylabrador
Just sound it out or tell them to sound it out
